The Maxus is a benchmark for hunters around the world. Its particularly smooth recoil and quick-loading system make it a unique weapon that offers comfort and high performance in equal measure. Before developing this virtuous shotgun for waterfowl and open-field hunting, we conducted an extensive survey to find out exactly what hunters want. INVECTOR PLUS
Speed load
Speed loading has been popular in Browning semi-automatics for decades. Our patented Speed Load Plus loading and unloading system sends the first cartridge from the magazine directly into the chamber and unloads quickly without having to cycle each cartridge into the chamber using the bolt.
Magazine cutoff
All Maxus models, with the exception of Sporting models, are equipped with a magazine cutoff so that the shooter can easily unload the chamber and, in this way, change the type of cartridge without having to feed a cartridge from the magazine into the chamber.
Power Drive Gas System
The Power Drive Gas system uses large exhaust valves to vent unneeded gas more quickly. A new patented design for an integrated exhaust valve keeps residue out of the mechanism for cleaner operation. The piston has a 20% longer stroke to make it more reliable with light loads. The system works with loads from 24 to 64 g.
Back-Bored Barrel
The principle of the Back-bored™ barrel consists of increasing the diameter of the barrel bore and lengthening the forcing cone, which provides three advantages: an increase in velocity, better shot penetration/patterning, and a reduction in recoil.
