SAX
SAX MJG lead-free hunting ammunition
Caliber
Cereales
SAX MJG lead-free hunting ammunition uses a monolithic brass projectile designed to combine rapid energy delivery with deep penetration. The driving band construction reduces friction and promotes a flat trajectory and consistent accuracy.
Unlike the KJG, the MJG does not incorporate a pre-deformation phase: it begins directly with partial fragmentation and continues with a residual solid body. SAX notes four main fragments and a minimum impact velocity of approximately 580 m/s.
Main features
Monolithic brass projectile
Lead-free construction with increased hardness, featuring driving band geometry to limit friction, deposits, and wear.
Two-phase terminal performance
The front zone splits into four main fragments while the residual body maintains high deep-tissue action.
Response on larger game
According to SAX, the MJG fragments retain more energy than the smaller KJG fragments, which aids penetration on tough game.
Accuracy and trajectory
The aerodynamic, low-friction design is geared toward a flat trajectory and precise performance.
