CONSTRUCTION AND CHASSIS

The material of the frame for these binoculars is magnesium, which makes them strong and resistant, but not excessively heavy. In fact, they maintain a very good balance, having enough weight to make them easy to stabilize, but they are not so heavy that they cause fatigue during continuous use. On the other hand, they are not excessively bulky, which helps with carrying them in multiple ways, as they are hinged and can be folded in on themselves. This last feature, together with the diameter of the lenses, conditions the width of the tubes, which cannot be excessively bulky.

They have a very high resistance to rough handling, which is fundamental in equipment intended for outdoor activities. It is really difficult for them to suffer any damage from an accidental drop or moisture problems.

Their studied ergonomics make them feel very pleasant to hold; the rubber coating helps with this, featuring some strategic textured areas to guarantee a grip with wet hands. A coating that also has protective functions and attenuates possible swaying against clothing, thanks to the friction provided by the rubber. In addition, noises resulting from tapping against other metal parts of the equipment are avoided.

EYECUPS, DIOPTERS, AND FOCUS

One of the smartest features of these binoculars is the diopter correction lock. Adjusting it is usually tedious, but with this function, they can be fixed without fear of them becoming misaligned. There is no need to worry about someone bumping into them and ruining your setting. Operation is simple: just pull up the eyecups, make the correction, and push them back in to lock. For focusing, there is a central wheel with a very good feel and resistance, which allows for quick and precise adjustment.

LENSES

In this regard, the lens protection technology known as "EXO Barrier" stands out. It is a coating developed by Bushnell that bonds molecularly to the lens and fills the microscopic pores in the glass. The result is an ultra-slick coating that repels water, oil, fog, dust, and other particles. Rain, snow, fingerprints, and dirt will not stick either.

Logically, this treatment also helps keep the binoculars clean and therefore will allow for maintaining a sharp view even with intense use.
Another of their most notable aspects is the "Prime Glass" extra-low dispersion (ED) lenses and the use of a dielectric coating for the prisms. The light transmission of the BaK-4 prism is improved by using this type of coating instead of a metallic mirror one. This causes its surfaces to act as a dielectric mirror. Dielectric prisms produce high reflectivity, great color, astonishing resolution, and fantastic detail, even in twilight hours. Likewise, they allow for 92% light transmission, generating bright images.

They also have a PC3 Phase coating, which improves resolution and contrast. The consequence of all this is that ENGAGE binoculars provide accurate viewing, whatever the environmental circumstance.

The depth of field in these binoculars is also exceptional. Being able to keep an eye on what is happening outside of your main target is a really uncommon feature. Finally, it should be noted that the lenses of the ENGAGE binoculars are made of eco-friendly, lead-free glass and are completely waterproof, meeting the IPX7 military certification.

ACCESSORIES

Bushnell has increased the number of accessories included with the binoculars. The packaging has been significantly improved, and a cordura outer carrying bag has been included, along with a smaller protective bag that also serves as a lens cleaning cloth. Along with the protective bags, Bushnell provides rubber covers for the lenses, both for the front and the back. Both are easy to put on and take off. To keep the binoculars within reach, a durable and comfortable padded strap with the brand name printed on it is also included.
