Chapuis X4 Side-by-Side Rifle

In a conventional double rifle, barrel convergence can only be achieved through a complex soldering operation that requires highly skilled labor and mandates the use of a single load.

With very few exceptions, this means that switching to a different load requires re-regulating the barrels, which involves returning the weapon to the factory for intricate polishing and bluing.

The left barrel is fixed. No significant force needs to be applied to it. An adjustable block allows for simple and easy regulation by changing the pressure exerted on the free-floating right barrel, which is equipped with a guide ring.

The barrel rib is also fully floated. This unique barrel design has been patented.

A professional gunsmith will find that quick and non-invasive adjustments can be easily made with this unique regulation system, offered for the first time in a classic side-by-side double rifle.

Whether firing four, six, or eight cartridges in rapid succession or simply sending one or two bullets toward your game, convergence and regulation remain secured in most hunting situations and with most quality cartridges.

The regulation block is not visible from the exterior. The new X4 double rifle features the usual highly refined, hand-carved details of the exclusive Progress receiver with the typical Chapuis Armes scalloping, now with reinforcement ribs that come directly from the Chapuis Armes tradition. There are finely polished double triggers.

The pistol-grip stock features a traditional cheekpiece with a conservative contour and dimensions set to emphasize the perfect balance and instant target acquisition so important in a working hunting weapon.

The weight is approximately 6 pounds or 3.1 kilograms, depending on the density and caliber of the walnut.

An adjustable front sight is installed on top of an aerodynamic, contoured ramp. The rear sight is an upgraded blade with fiber optics fitted into a quarter-rib that is factory-prepared to accept various bases for the installation of optics.

The X4 side-by-side double rifle is equipped with automatic ejectors or manual extractors and complex tools whenever different ammunition or loads are needed.

When installing optical sights, there is no longer a possibility that the point of impact will shift due to weight or constraints from the mount or the weight of the optic.
