Leupold riflescopes are known for their elite optical performance, and the Mark 3HD™ is no exception. But reaching this level of excellence does not happen overnight. Over the last 113 years, Leupold has manufactured military-grade optics that outperform and outlast all others on the market, and has applied that heritage to a new line of tactical scopes.
All Mark 3HD models have everything necessary to get the most out of your tactical rifle. Complete with MIL-based adjustments, exposed elevation adjustments, HD lenses, and a low-profile power selector ring, this series offers everything a tactical or long-range shooter could ask for. And like all Leupold riflescopes, it is designed, machined, and assembled in the USA and is covered by the Leupold 30-year warranty.
It is a scope that, considering its magnification level, target type, and the weapon for which it is intended (AR-15, AR-10, and similar), allows for an effective maximum range of up to 800 m. Although undoubtedly, users who choose it will operate at much shorter distances; it is a very comfortable scope for working in the 400 m range.
It is a perfect scope for this type of rifle due to its lightness and dimensions, being situated one step above typical sporting optics for Tri-gun or Close Quarter Battle (CQB) tactical use. Furthermore, it can perform well in the hunting field for those who prioritize reduced weight and compact size in a scope for stalking at medium distances.
The reticle is of the tactical type and in the second focal plane (SFP), maintaining the proportion for distance calculations at its maximum magnification. Its good optics with several proprietary treatments, including the Twilight Light Management System, mean that few scopes in this price segment offer high-level performance during twilight hours.
Eye relief and the “eyebox” are the hallmarks of LEUPOLD, and this scope is no exception. It is very easy and quick to find the eye alignment that offers a complete and sharp view of the transmitted image.
Given its tactical vocation, the elevation correction turret is exposed. Corrections are in MILs, 0.1 MIL per click, which translates to a variation of one cm at 100 m. The clicks have a very good tactile feel and a correction range of 125 MOAs.
The Mark 3HD™ offers legendary Leupold performance and reliability, but with a certain level of specialization. Intended for users of AR-15, AR-10, VZ-58, etc. type rifles who are looking for a relatively affordable tactical optic with great performance at medium distances.

- Design subjected to the Punisher, a LEUPOLD-exclusive recoil simulation machine that subjects each model to 5,000 impacts. Each impact has three times the force of the recoil of a .308 Win caliber rifle. The models are analyzed after the brutal test, with design adjustments subsequently made as necessary.
- Twilight Light Management System: helps you see more in less light and also provides great color consistency and superior lens clarity.
- Military-grade protective coating, extremely durable, resistant to scratches, water, dirt, and fingerprints.
- Turret adjustment is 0.1 MIL, meaning 1 cm of correction at 100 m.
- Correction range of 125 MOAs (36.4 MILs) for both elevation and windage.
- Being a tactical-oriented scope, it is logical that the reticle graduation is in MILs.
